Frosted Banana Cake

This Banana Cake frosted with a Cinnamon FROST Buttercream Bakery Frosting is truly delicious for the end of summer!
For the banana bread cake, we love Sally's Baking Addiction's Banana Bread recipe (found here). For this recipe, I just divided it in thirds (using only 1 banana) to baked it in one 6 inch cake round. It's an easy-to-make, moist, flavorful banana cake, but feel free to use any banana bread / cake you desire.
For the frosting, all you need is 1 tub of FROST Buttercream and cinnamon.
What You'll Need:
- 1 tub of FROST Buttercream Vanilla Bakery Frosting
- 1 tsp - 2 tsp of cinnamon
- Optional: Fresh banana slices for the top of the cake
Steps:
- Bake your favorite banana cake and let cool.
- Bring 1 container of FROST Buttercream to room temp. (2-4 hours on the counter or microwave 25 seconds) until softened like butter. Monitor to prevent over-melting.
- Whip FROST on HIGH with a hand / stand mixer (with paddle attachment) until totally smooth & fluffy. (Note: initial separation while whipping is completely normal, just keep whipping until turns smooth. The colder the frosting is when you begin, the longer it may take to whip until smooth.)
- Stop the mixer and add in 1 tsp of cinnamon. Whip on medium speed until incorporated. Test for flavor. If you desire a stronger cinnamon flavor, slowly add in another 1/2 tsp and test again.
- Once your banana cake is cool, spread the Cinnamon FROST on top.
- Optional: Cut up a fresh banana into thin slices and layer on the top of the cake for decoration!
- Place your cake in the fridge to set & for storage.
Enjoy!
